Ingredients: Citric Acid


Citric acid is a weak organic acid found in citrus fruits.
Citric acid can help to improve fatigue and promote the metabolism. A German-born British biochemist, Dr. Hans A. Krebs received a 1953 Nobel Prize for his discovery in living organisms of the series of chemical reactions known as the tricarboxylic acid cycle (also called the citric acid cycle or Krebs cycle), a discovery of vital importance to a basic understanding of cell metabolism and molecular biology. The Krebs cycle is an integral part of aerobic respiration in which acetyl coenzyme A, a product of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism, is broken down in the presence of oxygen to release energy.

The acid in the lemons assist the cleansing process.
Citrus fruits, such as lemons, contain a pure concentrated form of citric acid. Citric acid works like bleach on fat. Due to its acidity and high ph, citric acid is able to actually penetrate and break down fat molecules. Besides, citric acid can help promote digestion. Drinking lemon juice or lemon water during illness can help control the bowel and, in some cases, can help prevent constipation.

In the experiment, people found that consumption of citric acid can purify the blood, and accelerate the blood flow. After the decomposition of dietary carbohydrate, protein or fat obtained from the food, the body will enter the citric acid cycle of metabolism. Also it can inhibit fat production, impede body convert excess fat carbohydrates, inhibit fat synthesis, promote glycogen formation, reduce appetite and promote lipolysis functions.
